What's Your Poison by Marie Fostino

The Oklahoma City bombing opened a whole in Sylvia's heart. It broke her heart not to be able to help.  At 60 years old, she went back to school. She became an EMT but it expanded to so much more. Sylvia wasn't sure she could handle the job now.  She'd soon find out.

The writing and characters in this book are amazing. I enjoyed the fact it wasn't sugar covered as many of this topic can be. Ms. Fostino writes from her soul and you can feel it with each and every word.  This book will give you  a new perspective. The plotting and pacing are easy and make this  book move along as it should. Get this one for your TBR pile.

     I found no issues.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because the compassion of the writer and characters shines though.

Dangerous Liaisons by Barbara Tyree

Sierra Lancaster knew the path she wanted to take in life. After a couple of incidents, her path changes and becomes more dangerous. She loves her job though.  Sierra's partner, Colton, is a terrific guy and a great friend. When their boss sends them on vacation, they don't expect the bottom to fall out of their world. Now, they'll have to cope with new information and old.

The base story line of this book is a good one. It has some unexpected twists and turns which only enhance the story. However...

I did find issues. This book reads awkwardly. Incomplete sentences don't help this read. It's out of sequence in several spots. There are sections  which are repeated in several places. It's as if Ms. Tyree went back in and began to redo a section but forgot to delete the previous section.   Ms. Tyree gives up too many of the surprises too early in the story. This messes up the flow of the read. It's almost like  this was written by a junior high student. Clumsy comments and things explained that didn't need explaining.  This book is NOT ready for readers. It requires some reworking before they allow the public to read it.

I gave this one 2 cheers out of 5 because it's a nice attempt but falls short of the goal.

The Season of Silver Linings (Sweet Lake #3) by Christine Nolfi

Usually, Sweet Lake is a quiet small town where neighbors still help neighbors. At least until now. Jada Brooks is trying to keep the Wayfair Inn running smoothly while her friends and partners deal with personal matters.   The Wayfair Inn is busier than it's been in years. With love in the air, Jada is hopeful it will help her find her Mr. Right. Before that can happen, the past comes back with questions.

Extremely well written, well plotted and characters to fall in love with. The pacing of this read is comfortable. I love the little surprises along the path too. Ms. Nolfi knows how to make a book come alive in your hands. You'll enjoy the humor as well. I loved this book and it's part of a series. Each book in the series stands alone too. Get this one for your beach read, book club or as a gift for your friends.

     I didn't find any issues.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it's truly spectacular.

The Staircase of Fire (Shakertown Adventure #3) by Ben Woodard

In his short life, Tom had encountered many things he didn't agree with. He did his best to just deal with it, keep his head low and move forward. When circumstances change, Tom knows he must get out of town. With no money and only a handful of friends, can he do it?

Racism, maturity, love and family are all included in this book. It's filled with historical information. This book is compelling reading.  I found the writing to be wonderful in this easy read book. The characters have been developed and the plot easy to follow. Mr. Woodard handles the racism in a way that doesn't inflame the story. This book will keep your attention throughout and you'll be surprised by the ending. Another great read from Ben Woodard.

     I didn't find any issues.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it's a must read for all ages.

Summer's End by Kristy Brown

As Summer opens her eyes, she feels as if she's in a strange place. Looking around she realizes she's in the hospital but that's all she knows. Summer tries to sit up and the pain shooting through her is horrible. If only she could remember how she got here. Then again, it must have been something pretty bad if she landed here. She'll figure it all out, she has too.

This book is fantastic! The story line is easy to follow.  It's a well plotted book and Ms. Brown set the pace at an easy speed. You're gonna love the characters, I know I do.  They are richly developed and realistic. I enjoy the fact Ms. Brown keeps you just outside the loop so you don't figure things out until she wants you to. *smile*  This one should be on your TBR pile and on your young adult's TBR pile. Perfect for a book club to read and discuss. I didn't want it to end. Thank you Ms. Brown for another book I can wholeheartedly recommend.

I didn't find any issues.  I would however like to know more about the friends.

I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because it has a very powerful ending.
