Light & Dark: The Awakening of the Mageknight (Light & Dark #1) by Daniel M. Fife

Danny finds himself getting ready to start eighth grade. It wasn't going to be good. The usual problems would be there. Bullies, homework, and his mother would make the year even tougher for him. He hoped the bullies would find someone else to bother The only bright spot, a new student.

Just when you think things are going to be "normal", something jumps in to make it an unruly mess. Mr. Fife wrote a wonderful book here. It stays true to the "normal" boy but also adds a thing or two. The characters are well defined and placed in this complex story. It's interesting, unexpected and a true fight between light and dark. Danny and his friends will have to use all of the skills they've learned in this battle.

I didn't find any issues in this one.

I gave this one 4 cheers out of five because it is complex. I also believe it should be geared toward 11-18 years old people. I think the 7-10 years old are too young.

Leap the Wild Water by Jenny Lloyd

Megan has a past she doesn't want to relive. She'd be just as happy to have it all disappear. It's not that easy though. One other person knows about her secrets and wouldn't hesitate  to use them as bargaining chips. The question is, will Megan give in to the blackmail or will she divulge the secrets herself?

This suspenseful book is well written and the characters well defined. It will keep you thinking throughout. I thought the secrets and the person wielding them was a wonderful twist on the story. Ms. Lloyd does a great job of keeping you interested and turning pages. This should be an auto buy author.

     I didn't find any issues.

I gave this one 4 cheers out of 5 because it does drag a bit in spots.

We Will Always Remember

We give thanks today for each and every person who helped out September 11, 2001. Your generosity of spirit will remain with us forever.  To the families who lost a loved one that day, we grieve with you. We give you a shoulder to lean on when times are hard.

The Rainbow Staircase by Melanie Adkins

That day millions saw the double rainbows. They said, "aren't they pretty?"

No one really understood the magnitude of those rainbows. Just as she had

brightened the lives of so many with her colorful coats and matching hats,

Queen Elizabeth II wanted to be sure her subjects saw her ascent into Heaven.

As she climbed the staircase, the rainbows appeared so she should would be seen.

It was her way of letting everyone know she was almost home now.

When the rainbows disappeared, she stood in front of the pearly gates where

      Prince Philip greeted her.

I Let You Fall by Sara Downing

Eve was running late. She is headed home to change and then meet her boyfriend. They are to attend a formal affair at the art gallery where Nathan works. Sometimes though, things don't go quite as planned. Eve couldn't figure out why they didn't but she knew something was horribly wrong.

Let me say right off this book reads slowly, however for this book it is a huge plus.  It definitely fits the situation. Written in parts, again, it works with this story. The premise is absolutely amazing. You won't be able to understand for certain just where the story is going next. This book is extremely well written with characters you will relate to and love. I don't think you've read a book this good on this subject before. I can't say enough good about it. Myself, I've already recommended it 20 times and reread it 5 times. I love this one.

The only issue I have is with the ending. On one hand it's genius. On the other it's lame. You'll see when you read it.

I gave this one 4 cheers out of 5 because of the ending. It just didn't tie in really well. It was too easy. Alright now, go get your copy.
